Why your jeans waist size is always bigger than what is specified by the brand?

Have you wondered why your jeans waist size is bigger than specified by the brand?

I started buying jeans size 28 few years back and they fitted me well. I was always of the opinion, my waist size is 28 inches. Now i wear 30 size jeans while i actually measure 31.5" on the waist.

Is it not ridiculous? No transparency ?

It is only after a while i realised my waist was 30" and 28" jeans fitted me well. I was wondering why the brands are not sharing the exact waist measurement.

Here is the inside story. When brands say the jeans size is 28" and am really 30", i feel good (they think), jeans size shows i am slimmer than what is so. This is a psychological win brands are trying have over us and feel good. Whether we felt good or not , this is the fact.

This is my jeans from a well known brand measuring 84 cm (32.0 inches) with the label saying 30.

Once i realised this, i got conscious of my real waist size and started work out towards better fitness.

If you always thought your waist size is the size of your bottom, today is awakening !!!

Brands better be authentic and tell consumers what their real sizes are !!!
