How do i know if its cotton?

Many a times when we shop clothing, the shop keeper / brand says , "sir this is 100% cotton"

Here is a simple burn test to find this out. Take a thread from the cloth , you can do this near the hem.

Hold the thread taken out from the fabric and burn it by lighting at the tip of the thread. Blow off. Touch the the tip to see if its soft or there is a plastic  like bead. If it is soft, its a natural fibre (cotton) , if there is a bead , its synthetic (polyester). Sometimes there is a blend of poly and cotton which is better than pure polyester.

Now you are equipped to check the fundamental ingredient of any fashion product which is fabric.

Also you will start establishing trust with shop / brand.

Keep watching the space for tips.
